History
Montauk, New York, is a village at the east end of the Long Island peninsula. It’s known for its beach, like Ditch Plains, with its strong Atlantic surf. Montauk Point State Park is located at the peninsula’s tip and is home to the 1796 Montauk Point Lighthouse. The museum in the keeper’s house shows historical documents which was signed by George Washington. Camp Hero State Park was once a military base, has WWII bunkers and a radar tower.montauk googlemaps
