The Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble perform band masterworks spanning eras from the 17th to the 21st century. The Jazz Ensemble performs jazz charts by Basie, Ellington, Monk, Rich, Goodwin and Choate graduate composers.
The Women’s and Men’s Ensembles and Concert Chorus repertoire is drawn from masterworks of the great choral composers and includes music of many cultures. Our Chamber Choir performs throughout the Lyme and Old Lyme Communities, presenting a mix of genres ranging from classical chamber music through contemporary a cappella. The LOLHS competitive show choir, “Amped Up,” competes and performs throughout New England with accompaniment by the Show Band.
In addition to our school music offerings, our students participate in State and Regional Festivals; New England Music Festival; and have been selected to participate in National ensembles. Students who represent LOLHS in extracurricular festival can earn honors level credit for their ensembles
