Bureau of School Facilities Issues Final Approval on Plans for LOLHS Project
The Bureau of School Facilities of the State Department of Education has issued a final approval letter on the plans for the renovation of Lyme-Old Lyme High School. This clears the way for the project to be bid. O&G Construction Managers, who are in charge of the project, are ready to launch the bidding process.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin this summer. Summer work will include critical tasks that can’t be done while school is in session like asbestos abatement.
School administrators have prepared for program displacement that will take place next year in phase one of the project. An informational presentation which shows the building areas that will be offline, the programs impacted and the alternative accommodations for these programs can be found on the District’s website. High school parents will receive mailings on phase one and programming this summer.

General Assembly Approves School Construction
The District is delighted to receive the news that the Lyme-Old Lyme High School building project is included in the 2010 school construction legislation that was approved by the General Assembly on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. It received unanimous approval by the Senate and received only one dissenting vote in the House. The architect has a date of June 10 for the final approval signoffs on the high school building project by the Bureau of School Facilities.
