Fifth grade students will be given a quick homework assignment that is expected to be returned at the following class. Elementary students receive Spanish instruction twice a week. At Lyme School, the 5th graders will have Spanish on Wednesday and Friday. At Mile Creek, the 5th graders will have Spanish on Mondays and Tuesdays. Completing their homework gives the students an opportunity to practice and reinforce skills that have been introduced in class. Each month or two, different themes of study will be introduced with new vocabulary units. Checking your child's homework will allow you to see what words they are learning and allow them to "teach you" for more practice! Students will earn tickets for a drawing that will take place monthly beginning in October, each time they return their homework on time. Please feel free to email me with any questions, or send a note with your child if you have any concerns. Unless your child's Spanish classes are back to back, they will have more than one night to complete the assignment which should only take 5 or 10 minutes. Thank you for your support in helping your child develop responsibility and good study habits for middle school.
