Goals for 2009-2010 School Year
Goals emerge from a number of sources including the district’s strategic plan, program development, legislation, state requirements, demographic changes, resource changes, and developments in technology. The following have been identified as district goals for 2009-10.
Curriculum and Instruction
Implement the third year of Haskins project (researched based reading instruction).
Expand RtI (Response to Intervention).
Implement and monitor homework guidelines.
Refine and implement a cycle of curriculum review and renewal.
Restructure middle school academic teams.
Capacity Building
Adopt and adapt Power School software for purposes of student information, data based decision making and reporting.
Transition to improved special education software for the development and maintenance of IEP’s (Individualized Educational Plans).
Revise teacher evaluation in compliance with state guidelines.
Incorporate BEST (Beginner Educator Support Team) changes from the state into the district’s staff induction plans.
Strengthen supervisory skills through Phi Delta Kappa training in classroom walk throughs.
Continue Board of Education development.
Facilities
Complete the track project.
Engage in pre-construction plans and activities for the high school renovation.
Planning and Development
Facilitate a study of elementary enrollments and space utilization.
Maximize benefits of funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Develop a web page for seasonal resident.
